July 2024 marks Thirty4/7 Communications’ 6th year in business, and we’ve taken a few moments to remind ourselves of a few of our highlights over the last 12 months:
The business has continued to grow following appointment on several large new accounts for clients across the UK. This includes several new onshore wind Developments of National Significance in Wales (taking the tally of potential wind energy generated from schemes the team is supporting to over 1GW!), and numerous new solar DCO and DNS schemes across the UK.
We saw the submission of two DCO schemes for major solar projects in England, and several onshore wind DNS schemes as well as the approval of many schemes locally for clients from ‘A’ldi to ‘V’oltalia (unfortunately we have no clients starting with a ‘Z’!).
Based out of its HQ and team hub in Newport, South Wales, the T47 team has also continued to grow, with several recent additions in the form of Alex Magee (who returned to the company after a few years away) and Zak Ivany, who joins to head up the company’s strategic infrastructure offering. Holly Simons also joined the team as Account Executive in 2023 and has since become a central member of the team.
Andy Hughes stepped into the role of Managing Director in a reflection of the central strategic role he plays in the smooth operation of the business workstreams. Both Kate Orage and George Heal also progressed into the roles of Account Director and Account Manager respectively. Internally, Hayley Fisher has taken on the role of Operations Manager and led on the company’s internal structural changes and helped to work with Synergist to deliver a significant refresh to our day to day operations.
Elsewhere, staff have been busy outside of the ‘day to day’, working on areas of interest important to them – following promotion from Senior Account Executive to Junior Account Manager last year, Aaron Marchant has led on the delivery of the company’s marketing approach and our overview of the recent General Election. Bethan Williams has undertaken a marketing course in Cardiff, Sara Powell-Davies has been working with Antz to achieve her ETCAL Level 3 Aware in the Social Value Journey, and Gabby Naseviciute has pursued additional learning with the Coding Academy to support her digital and web work for the company.
Intern Harrison Costar has been making progress through his year of incredible challenges on behalf of Mind – to date he’s raised £1,700 by completing a marathon, ultra-distance event or similar extreme challenge. (If you’d like to donate, visit his donations page here).
In June we attended the Renewable Energy Association Awards in London as a shortlisted finalist in the ‘Best Communications Agency’ Award – although we didn’t win, it was a brilliant evening, and lovely to see continued industry optimism in the fight to achieve net zero.
We’ve also continued to strengthen our commitment to working with our social value partners and have been excited to see the planting of the 1000th tree as a result of our contributions to Stump Up for Trees and Ecologi. We’ve extended this commitment to the environment through the creation of the role of Sustainability Lead within the company – a role that holds us to account for the choices we’re making in the day to day running of the business and asking ‘how can we do that greener?’. It’s helped us implement various initiatives including exploring how to source more sustainable printing materials for our consultation events, how we travel to and from the places we need to be, and even what activities we do on our company team days.
The team is excited to continue building on the successes of the last 12 months as we look towards the 2024/2025 new year.
Founding Director Will Morgan said:
“When we metaphorically opened the doors to T47 back in 2018 I had no idea what would happen. Certainly, there was a very different national and global landscape, meaning there’s no way we could have envisioned where we’d be in 2024.
“Since then, we’ve been extremely lucky to have been joined by exceptional colleagues and friends who have all helped to keep the company evolving and providing the highest quality service for our clients. We’ve worked on some really stellar projects and with wonderful clients, every one of which I’d like to thank for placing their trust in us to help them achieve their aims.
“On an anniversary like this, it is always important to stop and take stock and consider what we’ve achieved over the last twelve months, as well as looking ahead to the next year. Our last six months have been transformative for the business as we’ve adjusted ourselves to our continued growth and set a really solid foundation to allow us to continue on our exciting upward trajectory. Our seventh year is going to be a great one!”.
