Welcoming Harrison as T47’s newest comms intern

Harrison 2

As part of the Thirty4/7 commitment to providing opportunities for young people to enter the world of planning communications and consultation, we are excited to welcome Harrison Costar who has joined the team on a paid internship. Harrison will be supporting the team across several projects over the coming months and we look forward to introducing him to clients as he becomes more involved in our forthcoming projects. In the meantime, here’s a brief overview, written by Harrison himself:

Hi all, I’m Harrison and I’m excited to be joining the Thirty4/7 team as a Communications Intern. Currently studying BSc Psychology at Swansea University, I have also recently completed an ‘Ethics of AI’ Course through the London School of Economics, as well as an internship at Caredig, a non-profit housing association.

At my previous placement, I worked closely with both the HR and Communications departments to deliver reports, infographics and social content on the important topics of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Staff Engagement. Additionally, I have supported students in developing their academic abilities and interests as a private tutor, connecting and empathising with students of a range of experiences and backgrounds. This experience has improved my ability to deliver accessible content to a plethora of audiences, a skill I am hoping to bring to the task of communicating the complicated procedures involved in the planning process to as many people as possible.

Within my role, I will be researching and preparing social media campaigns, drafting press releases and organising public exhibitions and stakeholder events, as well as managing other communications lines such as blog posts.

As a communications intern, I am excited to have the opportunity to utilise my current skillset towards renewable energy and infrastructure projects, a sector that is fulfilling to contribute to as a supporter of a thriving and ethical tomorrow.

In my free time, I confess to being a bit of a nerd, indulging (if you can call it that) in chess, reading anything about psychology, and running up and down Swansea Beach endlessly trying to beat my 5k time.

I look forward to developing personally and professionally throughout my time at Thirty4/7 Communications, meeting the team and contributing to the organisation’s goals of impacting a greener future!
